It appears that the iPhone and iPad, keep track of your location at all times, and it keeps a record of it in a hidden file on your device. And to top it off, this has been known by law enforcement agencies for some time.

Apparently the different sensors in the device log all the information into a hidden file, that can be accessed by anyone that knows how, so if you are arrested for any reason, the police could access this file, and find out where you have been, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for the last year. And so far apple are keeping quiet.

It doesn't surprise me that something like this has happened, just think of the amount of information you can get from your device now that they have things like GPS chips and the like, the information has to be stored somewhere on the device so it can be used to its full extent, so if this is available on Apple products, how many other phones and GPS's is it also available on?
