Was chatting to a colleague the other day that had just participated in a VMware conference in Perth. He mentioned that they were developing PC over IP. The idea was that you purchase a monitor with built in Ethernet and USB ports. You then plug it into the network and VMware starts a session with that user. Once the user logs off the session becomes inactive. The user can then bring his/her laptop in and resume the session on the laptop. (Taking the laptop away with that session is also possible.)
This idea sounds great but how much pressure does it put on the server running the virtualisation? Surely if you were to begin 15 - 20 sessions off the one server it would struggle!
anyone had any experience with this??
