Vacuum clamping is one of the most versatile methods available for securing
your work. The speed of vacuum clamping, combined with the obstruction
free surfaces makes this an ideal clamping system for many applications.
These double sided clamping blocks anchor to your work bench with vacuum
rather than using screws to hold them in place. This allows you to quickly
reposition them for different applications.
This system was designed to speed productivity, and developed to cover a
wide range of vacuum clamping applications. The vacuum source to operate
the blocks can be a vacuum pump, vacuum generator, or even a recycled
refrigerator compressor.
With over 60 pounds of clamping pressure per block at only 20 inches of vacuum,
clamping applications include sanding, routing edges, template routing, cutting
biscuit slots, holding fixtures, or for use in assembly.
The basic four block clamping system should cover most vacuum clamping
applications. You can use just one block to vacuum clamp small pieces, two,
three, or all four to vacuum clamp larger pieces.
These blocks hold your work off the bench which makes it easier when routing
completely around a work piece. Also, you have the added safety advantage of
not having conventional clamps to interfere with your work process.
Vacuum clamping will not mark your work, or get in the way like mechanical clamps
can. Your work is held securely even when using a random orbit sander on pieces
as small as 3 1/4" square.
This vacuum clamping system is extremely fast, easy to use, and it will save a
considerable amount of time as compared to conventional clamping methods.
