This little gem was passed by a mate of mine. The company offer phones that can take dual sim cards allowing simultaneous calls. ie the phone has two radios. Why the hell would you need two i hear you asking?
Well first of all if you have a work phone and a personal phone you no longer need to carry around two phones. Secondly you can save some money. Select the cheapest SMS/MMS network and get one sim off them, then select the cheapest call network and select there sim. Simple!
from the website:
"Normal GSM phones contain a single transceiver; DUALSIMTM phones have DUAL TRANSCEIVERS and display SIGNAL STRENGTHS for both networks. A phone with a single transceiver cannot be converted to simultaneous DUALSIMTM operation; at best you can only store both cards in an adaptor and manually switch between phones. The use of aftermarket adaptors in SINGLE transceiver phones could void the warranty of the phone and are not guaranteed to work on all phone models."
